A quick note about my story –
I grew up in a predominantly Italian neighborhood in South Philadelphia in a family full of culinary professionals. My love of baking began as a kid when my Great-Grandmom Mary taught me how to make all sorts of Italian cookies. I still remember crafting dough in her kitchen with her cookie press and her 80-year old cookie sheets, which I still use today!
While my great-grandmother taught me the art of the Italian cookie, it was my Aunt Barbara who helped me master an American icon – The Chocolate Chip.
I can’t share my exact recipe but I can tell you that my chocolate chips are made to order, a batch at a time, with a wooden spoon, and in an old Tupperware bowl. I kid you not. Besides, good Catholic girls never lie 😉
Anyway… soon after making my first batch more than 20 years ago, my cookies became an instant classic. It got to the point where, no matter the occasion, I couldn’t show up without them. No pressure there, right!
So after years of perfecting what my Aunt Barbara had taught me, I decided to take her, or umm… my chocolate chip cookies to market so that everyone can experience their awesomeness.
Kristie’s Cookies are the perfect gift for any occasion, even if the occasion is eating the last one… in your kitchen… at night… alone. Seriously, I won’t judge.
I look forward to sharing Kristie’s Cookies with each and every one of you.
With warmest regards, Kristie.
